Carrot Halwa Dessert

Ingredients

  • 2 kg carrots
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed saffron

Garnish

  • pistachios
  • coconut
  • almonds

Preparation

  1. Prepare a heart-shaped mold by lining it with parchment paper and set aside.

  2. In a food processor, coarsely grate the carrots.

  3. In a pan or pot, combine the carrots and sugar, cook on medium heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the carrots soften and the mixture thickens.

  4. Reduce the heat and add the powdered milk, stir well to combine the ingredients.

  5. Continue cooking for a few minutes to allow it to thicken.

  6. Add the ghee, ground cardamom, and crushed saffron, and stir continuously until everything is well incorporated and the mixture has a thick consistency.

  7. Pour the halwa into the prepared mold, level the surface, and sprinkle with pistachios, coconut, and almonds.

  8. Place the mold in the refrigerator for several hours to set, then unmold and serve.
