Delicious Middle Eastern Knafeh Balls
Ingredients
- 1 packet 250g Knafeh
- 1/2 cup melted ghee
- 1/2 cup fine powdered sugar
- 1 can 397g sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon cardamom
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup ground biscuits
Garnish
- Finely ground pistachios
Preparation
Take the frozen Knafeh packet out of the freezer and let it thaw on the kitchen counter until soft.
Position the oven rack in the middle and preheat the oven to 180°C.
In a deep bowl, place the Knafeh, ghee, and sugar, then use your fingertips to mix until the Knafeh fully absorbs the ghee and transfer to a wide baking tray.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until golden brown, stirring the Knafeh several times during baking, then let it cool completely.
Place the Knafeh in a deep bowl and crush it with your fingertips until fully crumbled, then add the condensed milk, cardamom, cinnamon, and ground biscuits, and mix until a cohesive dough forms.
Shape the mixture into medium-sized balls or as desired.
Roll the Knafeh balls in the ground pistachios to coat completely.
Insert wooden sticks into the balls or serve as preferred.
