Potato Casserole with Meat and Cheese
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons corn oil
- 500 grams ground meat
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon mixed spices
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 8 medium potatoes
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation
Set the wire rack in the oven, preheat the oven to 180°C, and prepare a medium-sized baking dish
Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes, immerse them in water, and boil until cooked and soft
In a saucepan, heat the oil and add the meat, stir until dry and cooked, then add the onion, mixed spices, salt, cinnamon, and cardamom
In a bowl, place the hot potatoes, add salt, butter, and mash them with a masher or use two forks, gradually adding milk until smooth and homogeneous
Place half of the potato mixture in the baking dish, then add the meat and spread it in a layer over the potatoes
Spread the cheese over the meat
Place the remaining potatoes in a piping bag and pipe them over the cheese surface
Place the dish in the oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown and serve hot
