Easy Blender Salsas for Summer
Ingredients
Salsa verde
- 400 g tomatillos
- 100 g white onion
- 50 g jalapeños
- 40 g garlic cloves
- 20 g cilantro
- Salt for seasoning
Salsa mexicana
- 650 g tomatoes
- 100 g white onion
- 50 g serranos
- 25 g garlic cloves
- 30 g cilantro
- Salt for seasoning
Spicy xnipec
- 400 g lime juice
- 80 g red onion
- 80 g habanero
- 15 g cilantro stems
Salsa arriera
- 750 g poblanos peppers
- 250 g fresnos chillies
- 150 g sweet onion
- 75 g garlic cloves
Salsa de árbol
- 200 g sweet onion
- 50 g garlic
- 250 g canola oil
- 5 g chiles de árbol
- 400 g tomatoes
- Salt for seasoning
Preparation
Salsa verde method
Blitz all ingredients together in a blender on high-speed for 30 to 60 seconds.
Transfer to a salsa bowl to serve.
Salsa mexicana method
Blend everything until smooth or pulse for a chunkier style.
Blend together a little before adding cilantro.
Transfer to a salsa bowl and add salt to taste if desired.
Spicy xnipec method
Pulse together on high speed 3 to 5 times.
Rest in a bowl for 30 minutes, then serve.
Salsa arriera method
Toss all of this in oil and salt and broil on high for 5 minutes.
Cover in a bowl and allow to steam for 10 minutes.
Remove the chilli stems and then add everything to blender.
Pulse until you get a jammy paste and serve.
Salsa de árbol method
Fry onion and garlic in the oil.
Add the chillies and cook until onion is golden.
Add the tomatoes, pinch of salt and simmer for 5 minutes.
Blend until smooth and allow to cool completely to serve.
