Homemade Crispy Popcorn Shrimp
Ingredients
- 229 grams peeled shrimp
- Juice of 1 lime
- Salt to taste
Marinade
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 50 ml water
- 1/2 teaspoon powdered stock
- 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Dry coating
- 200 grams all-purpose flour
- 50 grams sago
- 10 grams garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon powdered stock
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Preparation
Marinate the shrimp with lime juice and salt, let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse clean.
Dip the shrimp in the marinade mixture.
Coat each shrimp in the dry coating mixture while squeezing, then chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Fry in plenty of oil over medium heat until crispy.
Serve with chili sauce.
Tips
For better taste, serve with Jawara chili sauce, which is flavorful due to added fried onions.
