Baked Turkish Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 liter milk
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. First, add 1 cup of water to a pot, add the rice, and cook until soft

  2. Add the milk to the softened rice and when it boils, add the sugar and boil for another minute

  3. Mix the cornstarch and flour with a little water to make a slurry, add it to the pudding, and stir well

  4. Add the vanilla and turn off the heat

  5. Divide the mixture into oven-safe dishes and bake in a 200-degree Celsius oven with only the top heat on until browned
