Homemade Japanese Mochi with Fillings
Ingredients
- 200g glutinous rice flour
- 2 tbsp rice flour
- 100g granulated sugar
- 200-220ml coconut milk
- Salt to taste
- Food coloring to taste
Coating
- Roasted glutinous rice flour
Fillings
- Nuts
- Chocolate spread
- Strawberry jam
Preparation
Mix the glutinous rice flour, rice flour, sugar, and salt, then add the coconut milk and stir until smooth.
Add food coloring as desired.
Steam until cooked, about 20-30 minutes.
Sprinkle roasted glutinous rice flour on a surface, place the cooked dough on it, flatten, and cut into squares of desired size.
Fill with fillings, shape into balls, and roll in roasted glutinous rice flour again to prevent sticking.
Serve.
