Garlic Chili Chickpeas Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp garlic chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ginger powder
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained

Preparation

  1. Mix cornstarch and water together to make a slurry, then set aside.

  2. In a bowl combine chili sauce, soy sauce, maple syrup, the extra tablespoon water, garlic and ginger and mix together.

  3. Add chickpeas to a preheated pan and heat chickpeas through.

  4. Add garlic chili sauce mixture and coat chickpeas well.

  5. Add cornstarch slurry and cook to fully coat and thicken, about 2-3 minutes.

  6. Remove from heat and enjoy with your favorite sides.
