Lebanese Chickpea Balila Dish

Ingredients

  • 100 ml olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 750 g cooked chickpeas @bayaraworld
  • 40 g toasted pine nuts @bayaraworld
  • Handful of parsley for garnish
  • A pinch of salt and pepper, to season

Preparation

  1. Sauté your garlic cloves over medium heat with a dash of cumin for up to 30 seconds.

  2. Mix the sautéed spices with the chickpeas and olive oil. Cover the frying pan and cook over low flame until chickpeas turn soft, about 10-15 minutes.

  3. Add a dash of salt and pepper when done.

  4. Serve half of the chickpeas in a bowl with toasted pine nuts.

  5. Garnish the hummus balila with parsley
