Quick and Easy Spiced Lentil Daal

Ingredients

  • 2 cups red lentils
  • 1 tsp Shan ginger garlic paste
  • 4 green chilies
  • 4 large tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Shan turmeric spice
  • 1 tsp Daal spice
  • handful of cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 4 cups water

Preparation

  1. Rinse the lentils before use

  2. Pour the lentils and 4 cups of water in a saucepan on a medium heat, and cook for 10 minutes.

  3. Add the spices: ginger and garlic, turmeric and Shan Daal spice, mix everything together. Then add the tomatoes or any other vegetables and cook for another 2 minutes.

  4. Use immersion blender for 30 seconds to blend the lentils and cook for another 10 minutes.

  5. Stir in the cilantro, salt and pepper, and serve.
