Broken Wheat Kheer
Ingredients
- 1 cup broken wheat
- 2 1/2 cups jaggery powder
- 2 tablespoons cashew nuts
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dry ginger powder
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 4 cups milk
- 1/4 cup sago
- 1 cup hot water
Preparation
Cook the soaked broken wheat in a pressure cooker with water for one whistle.
Transfer the cooked wheat to a pan, add the soaked sago, stir well, pour in 1 cup of hot water, and cook until the sago softens.
Add the jaggery powder and mix well once the sago is cooked.
When the jaggery melts and begins to boil, pour in the boiled milk.
Once the milk is well combined, add the cardamom powder and dry ginger powder, stir well, and remove from heat.
In another pan, heat the ghee, roast the cashews and raisins, and add them to the mixture.
Stir everything well, allow it to cool slightly, and serve.
