Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked and cooled rice
  • 1lb ground beef
  • chicken or turkey
  • a spatula
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 10 oz frozen mixed veggies
  • 3 large eggs
  • soy sauce or tamari
  • 1-2 tbsp toasted sesame oil

Preparation

  1. Making fried rice and sharing big changes happening here! Here’s the fried rice recipe: start with 3 cups cooked and cooled rice or another grain

  2. Heat a large skillet to medium heat and add 1lb ground beef, chicken or turkey

  3. Cook, breaking up with a spatula, until no pink remains, then scrape into a heatproof bowl

  4. Add 3 cloves minced garlic and stir constantly for 30 seconds

  5. Add 10 oz frozen mixed veggies and allow to cook until warmed through

  6. While veggies are sautéing, whisk 3 large eggs in a bowl

  7. Scrape veggies to one side of the pan and add eggs

  8. Cook, stirring, until scrambled

  9. Add meat back to pan, along with 3-5 tbsp lite soy sauce or tamari (or to taste) and 1-2 tbsp toasted sesame oil

  10. Stir to incorporate, then carefully fold in cooked rice

  11. I added a few tbsp of the new Honey Aleppo Sauce by Trader Joe’s as well

  12. Enjoy
