Ghost Apple Hand Pies with Kefir Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 1 cooking apple
  • 3 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • A squeeze of lemon juice
  • 1-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons milk of choice

Yogurt dip

  • One pot Biotiful Kefir Original Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Toss the chopped apple with coconut sugar, a squeeze of lemon juice, ground cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.

  3. Lightly dust the work surface with flour.

  4. Lay the puff pastry on the floured surface and cut out ghost shapes using a cutter.

  5. Spoon the apple filling onto half of the pastry shapes.

  6. Place the other half of the pastry shapes on top and seal the edges with a fork.

  7. Brush the pastries with milk.

  8. Bake in the oven until golden and bubbling, about 15-20 minutes.

  9. While the pies cool, stir together the Biotiful Kefir Original Yogurt, ground cinnamon, and maple syrup to make the dip.

  10. Once cooled, dip the pies in the yogurt mixture.

Tips

  1. Add eyes and a mouth to the pastries for a spooky effect.

  2. Add googly eyes for extra Halloween fun if desired.
