Easy Mini Apple Strudel for Parties
Ingredients
- 1 kg apples (about 6)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 100 g sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (or breadcrumbs)
- 1 package filo dough (or strudel dough)
- 50 g melted butter
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Optional garnish
- Vanilla sauce
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 200°C (convection: 180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Peel, quarter, and core the apples
Cut the apple quarters into 1 cm cubes and mix with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and flour in a bowl
Take the filo dough sheets out of the package and cut each in half
Brush the edges of each dough piece with melted butter
Place about 2 tablespoons of the apple filling along the top edge of each dough piece, leaving about 2 cm on the left and right sides
Fold the left and right sides inward
Roll up the dough starting from the filling to form a strudel
Place the strudels on the baking sheet with space between them to form 16 mini apple strudels
Brush the tops of the strudels with the remaining melted butter
Bake for about 15 minutes
Dust with powdered sugar just before serving
Serve with vanilla sauce if desired
Tips
Add rum-soaked raisins, sliced almonds, pine nuts, or ground hazelnuts to the apple filling if desired
