Quick Fluffy Cinnamon Apple Waffles

Ingredients

  • 100g softened butter
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 150ml milk
  • 2 apples (such as Elstar), about 250g total
  • butter for greasing the waffle iron

Preparation

  1. Beat softened butter, vanilla sugar, and salt until light

  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each

  3. Mix flour, baking powder, and cinnamon, then fold into the batter

  4. Stir in milk

  5. Wash, peel if necessary, and coarsely grate the apples

  6. Fold the grated apples into the batter

  7. Preheat the waffle iron, greasing lightly if necessary

  8. Bake the waffles one at a time, using about 3 tablespoons of batter per waffle

  9. Let the waffles cool slightly on a wire rack

  10. Serve with powdered sugar, honey, or jam if desired

  11. The batter makes about 6 waffles

  1. Store baked waffles in an airtight container for later use

  2. Reheat in a preheated oven at 170°C for 7-8 minutes on a parchment-lined baking sheet
