Baked Jacket Potatoes with Salt and Oil
Ingredients
- 1-1.5 kg white potatoes
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- oil
- toppings to serve
Preparation
Remove any sprouts growing from your potatoes then prick each one all over with a fork, wash them, scrub well and then pat dry.
Place all the potatoes on a baking tray and drizzle lightly with oil, sprinkle salt all over. Cover the entire baking tray with aluminium foil.
Bake the potatoes in the oven at gas mark 7 or 220°C for 1 hour covered, after 1 hour turn the potatoes and then cook for another 20 minutes uncovered to crisp up the skin.
Enjoy with plain butter or your favourite toppings.
