Vegan Cinnamon French Toast Sticks
Ingredients
- 6-8 slices of @silverhillsbakery Organic Cinnamon Raisin Bread
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup unsweetened plant milk
Preparation
Cut each slice of bread into thirds with a serrated knife and set aside.
In a bowl, whisk together cornstarch, nutritional yeast, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and unsweetened plant milk until well combined.
Take each breadstick and quickly dunk it into the batter to coat, then shake off excess.
Heat a greased skillet or griddle and place the coated breadsticks on it.
Cook each side for about 2-3 minutes or until both sides are golden and crispy.
Serve the French toast sticks with maple syrup for dipping, or combine 1/4 cup maple syrup with 1-2 tsp of your favorite hot sauce for an extra kick.
