Vegan Mett

Ingredients

  • 100g brown rice cakes
  • 100ml water
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • tomato sauce (to reach your desired consistency)
  • 1-2 onions
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • seasoning: i used paprika, garlic, pepper and herbs
  • 1 tbsp soy/tamari sauce

Preparation

  1. Rumble rice cakes in a small bowl with your fingers

  2. Add water, chopped onion, tomato paste, tomato sauce, vinegar and soy sauce. Mix well

  3. Season well and for an even better consistency allow to pass through in the fridge for some hours (optional)

  4. Spread the vegan mett on whole grain bread, bagels etc and garnish with, for example, parsley and more chopped onions
