Barbecue Chickpeas with Rice, Avocado, and Greens
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp vegan Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic puree
- 2 tsp tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tsp liquid smoke (optional)
- 1/2 tsp cider vinegar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp water
- Coconut sugar, to taste (optional)
- 1 can chickpeas
Preparation
Place chickpeas in air fryer and cook for 10-15 minutes at 180°C, tossing occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Combine all sauce ingredients and mix well; taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Once chickpeas are done, they should have a slight crunch on the outside and be soft in the middle.
Warm a little of the sauce over low heat.
Toss the cooked chickpeas in the warmed sauce to coat them nicely.
Serve with rice, avocado, greens, or your favorite sides.
