Homemade Spelt Pizza with Grilled Vegetables
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of warm water
- 600 grams of spelt flour
- 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons of instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- extra olive oil for brushing
Tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves crushed
- 2 tablespoons of basil
- 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup
Preparation
In a fry pan add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, pepper, garlic and basil and sauté for 5 minutes then add the crushed tomatoes. Cook for 20 minutes on low heat.
In a bowl combine water, maple syrup, yeast. Set aside for 5 minutes.
In a mixing bowl with a dough hook add the flour, salt, yeast mixture and oil and knead for 15 minutes.
Cover the dough and allow it to rise for 4 hours in a warm area.
Once the dough has risen cut into 3 sections.
Brush the pizza trays with olive oil and spread the dough out.
Add the sauce and any topping you prefer, such as grilled eggplants, zucchini, and peppers.
