Vegan French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 mashed up ripe banana added to the milk and stirred together
  • 1/2 TBLSP. maple syrup
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 TBLSP. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 TBLSP. vanilla extract
  • 4-5 slices bread (it's important to use a rustic bread or it can turn out too soft)

Preparation

  1. P. S. If you need a more sticky consistency to dip the slices, add some chia seeds, which you have soaken before for around 15 minutes, to the mixture to add a more firm consistency

  2. Mix all ingredients except the bread in a large bowl

  3. Preheat pan to medium heat and grease with 1 Tbsp vegan butter or coconut oil

  4. Dip each slice of bread in the batter for about 20 seconds on each side

  5. If your bread is dry, leave it in a little longer

  6. If you're using sandwich bread, it should only need around 30 seconds total to soak

  7. Place the slices on the pan and cook until golden brown on the underside

  8. Carefully flip and cook until the other side is golden brown as well 3-4 minutes

  9. And there you have it, pretty simple VEGAN FRENCH TOAST! Also feel free to add some toppings like sliced bananas or caramelized apples as well as the maple syrup on top of your French toast
