Easy Vegan French Toast

Ingredients

  • Bread (sturdier type, dried or stale)
  • 240ml plant-based milk
  • 1-2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1-3 tablespoons sugar or stevia
  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Use a sturdier type of bread left out to dry overnight, or if using regular bread, roast on low heat until dry or leave overnight to stale.

  2. Mix together 240ml plant-based milk, 1-2 tablespoons flour, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, 1-3 tablespoons sugar or stevia, cinnamon, vanilla, and a pinch of salt, then let sit for 5 minutes.

  3. Dip bread slices into the mixture, coating completely but shaking off excess.

  4. Fry on medium heat until golden brown on both sides.

  5. Serve by rolling in a mix of cinnamon and stevia, drizzling melted chocolate, or eating with vanilla soya yoghurt.
