Chocolate Gingerbread Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 tbsp ground flax seed
  • 1 tbsp dark cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • Pinch cardamom
  • Pinch of clove
  • 1 tsp blackstrap molasses
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup unsweetened soy milk

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan

  2. Stir and allow to come to a simmer

  3. Continue to stir and thicken for about 5 minutes (or to preference) then remove from heat

  4. Pour into bowl and top generously

  5. I went with banana, blackberries, cacao nibs, tahini, and hemp seeds
