Vegan French Toast with Christmas Bread
Ingredients
- 4 slices Christmas bread
- 100ml plant-based milk
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 30g plant-based butter
- 30g red beet sprouts
- Powdered sugar
Optional
- Fruits such as oranges, banana, and/or cranberry
Preparation
Mix the plant-based milk with the flour and cinnamon in a deep plate.
Dip the slices of Christmas bread through the mixture.
Heat some plant-based butter in a frying pan and bake two slices golden brown on both sides. Repeat this step for the remaining slices.
Serve the French toast with powdered sugar, the sprouts and optionally some fruit.
Tips
Red beet sprouts can be found in organic stores or larger supermarkets like Albert Heijn and Jumbo.
This recipe is ideal for using Christmas bread leftovers or serving during Christmas breakfast.
