Cinnamon Rolls with Cheese and Chocolate Sauce
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup fine granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 4 1/4 cups flour
Filling
- 1 cup butter at room temperature
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cinnamon
Cheese sauce
- 200 grams cream cheese at room temperature
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large can sweetened condensed milk
Chocolate sauce
- 150 grams chopped chocolate
- 1 cup heavy cream
Preparation
For the dough: In a mixer bowl, place the yeast and milk, let it sit for a few minutes then add the sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, zest, add half the flour amount, attach the dough hook and continue kneading while gradually adding the flour
Let the dough rest for half an hour or until it doubles in size
Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough into a rectangle
For the filling: Spread the butter on the dough, sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon
Roll the rectangle into a log, seal the edges well and cut it into 12 slices
Get a 13x9 inch baking dish, place the cinnamon slices in the dish, cover them and let them rise in a warm place until doubled
Preheat the oven to 180°C and bake the rolls until golden brown
For the cheese sauce: In a blender pitcher, place the cheese, vanilla and milk, blend until smooth
For the chocolate sauce: In a saucepan, place the chocolate and cream, heat on low heat with gentle stirring until smooth
Place cinnamon rolls on a serving plate
Drizzle with cheese sauce and chocolate sauce and serve
