French Toast with Jam and Cream
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons honey
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
- 1 slice thick-cut bread
Toppings
- Raspberry jam, as needed
- Double cream
- Vanilla extract, to taste
Preparation
Beat the egg in a bowl and stir in honey and cinnamon to make the mixture.
Soak the bread slice in the egg mixture.
Fry the bread in a pan until browned on both sides.
Transfer to a preheated oven and bake for a few minutes to crisp up.
Whip the double cream with a little vanilla extract.
Serve the French toast topped with raspberry jam and the whipped cream.
Notes
This dish may not look impressive but tastes similar to a donut and is a great breakfast option.
