French Toast with Jam and Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon
  • 1 slice thick-cut bread

Toppings

  • Raspberry jam, as needed
  • Double cream
  • Vanilla extract, to taste

Preparation

  1. Beat the egg in a bowl and stir in honey and cinnamon to make the mixture.

  2. Soak the bread slice in the egg mixture.

  3. Fry the bread in a pan until browned on both sides.

  4. Transfer to a preheated oven and bake for a few minutes to crisp up.

  5. Whip the double cream with a little vanilla extract.

  6. Serve the French toast topped with raspberry jam and the whipped cream.

Notes

  1. This dish may not look impressive but tastes similar to a donut and is a great breakfast option.
