Fried Apple and Almond Butter Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 apple (Gala)
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp cardamom
  • 2 slices whole wheat bread
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 2 tsp maple syrup

Preparation

  1. Cut the apple into bite-sized cubes and add to a frying pan with 1 tsp coconut oil. Bring to medium-high heat, sprinkle with cinnamon and cardamom, and cook the apples, stirring often, until warmed and softened (about 5 to 10 minutes).

  2. Toast two slices whole wheat bread and lather with almond butter. Top toast with fried apple and drizzle with maple syrup.
