Creamy Garlic Herb Chicken
Ingredients
- 4 (6 oz) boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp minced fresh garlic (3 cloves)
- 2 tsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk (anything but skim)
- 4 oz. cream cheese, diced into small cubes
- 1 tsp minced fresh thyme*
- 1 tsp minced fresh rosemary*
- 1 Tbsp minced fresh parsley
Preparation
Season the chicken breasts with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Cook the chicken until browned and cooked through, then remove from the pan.
In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
Stir in all-purpose flour and cook for about one minute.
Gradually whisk in milk until the mixture thickens.
Add diced cream cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
Mix in minced fresh thyme, rosemary, and parsley.
Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it with the sauce.
Heat everything through and serve.
