Crunchy Baked Tacos with Cheese and Fresh Toppings
Ingredients
- 1/2 onion
- ground beef or turkey
- 1 tablespoon chili seasoning
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- a few splashes of broth
- tortilla shells
- cheese
- diced tomato
- jalapeño
- avocado
- cilantro
- salsa
- guacamole
Preparation
Sauté 1/2 onion and ground beef or turkey until browned, then drain excess grease.
Add 1 tablespoon chili seasoning, 1 tablespoon tomato paste, and a few splashes of broth; stir and simmer for a few minutes.
Heat tortilla shells one at a time until they bubble.
Stuff each tortilla with the taco mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
Fold the tortillas and bake at 400°F for 10 minutes.
Gently open and top with diced tomato, jalapeño, avocado, and cilantro.
Optionally dip into salsa and guacamole, and enjoy with a margarita.
