Vegan Brownie Cake with Maple Syrup Frosting
Ingredients
Cake
- 3/4 cup plain flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 1.5 cup almond milk
Frosting
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1.5 cups brown sugar (powdered)
- 1/3 cup dairy free butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup almond milk
Preparation
Put all the cake ingredients in a food processor and whizz them up.
Pour equal amounts of the mixture into 2 greased cake tins.
Bake them both for 30 minutes at 180℃ (356℉).
Put the brown sugar in a food processor and whizz it up into a very fine powder.
Put all the ingredients in a food processor and whizz them up into frosting (be patient, this will take a while but it will be very worth it).
Take the cakes out of the oven and allow them to cool down to room temperature.
Put a thick layer of the frosting on the top of one of the cakes.
Put the other cake on top.
Cover the entire thing with the rest of the frosting.
