Vegan Kidney Bean Burger Patties

Ingredients

  • 2 cans of kidney beans
  • 7 tablespoons oat flakes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1.5 teaspoons Chili con Carne spice (or use smoked bell pepper instead)
  • 1 can of sweet corn (about 200g)
  • 2 tablespoons of starch (e.g. corn)
  • 2 tablespoons plant oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • tabasco sauce (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil for the pan

Preparation

  1. Heat coconut oil in a non-stick pan and fry onions until they are brownish.

  2. Set aside a handful of beans and a handful of corn.

  3. Mix the remaining ingredients in a blender.

  4. Use your hands to mix in the reserved beans and corn.

  5. Divide the mixture into eight equal balls and form them into patties.

  6. Fry the patties on each side for a few minutes in the pan until done.

  7. Enjoy!
