Vegan Calamari with Heart of Palm

Ingredients

  • 1 can heart of palm
  • 4 sheets of roasted and salted seaweed - diced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup vegan milk (I used almond)
  • Ton of panko bread crumbs

Preparation

  1. Drain and slice the heart of palm into rings to mimic calamari.

  2. In a bowl, combine flour, water, and vegan milk to make a smooth batter.

  3. Mix the diced seaweed into the batter for added flavor and texture.

  4. Dip each palm ring into the batter, ensuring even coating.

  5. Roll the battered rings in panko bread crumbs to create a crispy exterior.

  6. Fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  7. Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and serve immediately.
