No-Bake Vegan Chocolate Salami
Ingredients
- 150g biscuits (rich tea biscuits, dry and crispy)
- 150 g dark chocolate
- 3 tbsp plant based milk (I used oat)
- 40ml vegetable oil
- a pinch of sugar (I used coconut sugar)
- 50 g chopped hazelnut or any other nut
Preparation
Place biscuits in a large ziplock bag or tea towel and crush them using a rolling pin or your hands until you have small and coarse crumbs.
Melt 150 g of dark chocolate in a water bath. Once melted, remove from the heat and add milk and oil, mixing well.
Add chopped nuts of choice, sugar, biscuits and mix.
Pour the mixture onto baking paper and roll to give it a cylinder shape. Roll the baking paper around it and wrap it, twisting the ends like a candy.
Let it cool in the freezer for a few hours or in the fridge for longer. When ready, sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. If you put it in the freezer, wait at least 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
This is a lighter, vegan adaptation of a traditional Italian chocolate salami dessert, which typically uses butter.
