Spicy Turkey Crust Pizza

Ingredients

Turkey crust

  • 400g ground turkey (lean, uncooked)
  • 1 large egg
  • 80g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp finely diced jalapeño
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped green onion tops
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Jalapeño cream sauce

  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 1 tsp finely diced jalapeño
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped green onion
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp hot chilli oil

Toppings

  • sliced onion
  • sliced tomato
  • salami or preferred toppings
  • fresh arugula

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F/220°C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. Mix all crust ingredients in a medium bowl until well combined.

  3. Divide in half for 2 smaller pizzas or make 1 large crust and press into a thin round or rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

  4. Bake for 20 minutes until edges are golden and center is cooked through.

  5. Stir all jalapeño cream sauce ingredients together until combined.

  6. Once crust is baked, spread 2-3 tablespoons of the jalapeño cream sauce over the top.

  7. Add sliced onion, sliced tomato and salami or your preferred toppings.

  8. Return to the oven for about 8 minutes until the tomatoes are juicy and a little soft.

  9. Let cool for five minutes, top with fresh arugula and enjoy.
