Spicy Italian Spread with Roasted Bell Pepper

Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 cups cherry tomatoes
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 3-4 radishes (handful)
  • 1 habanero pepper (can be substituted with Fresno or Jalapeño pepper for milder heat)
  • 2 dates
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • Handful of fresh basil

Preparation

  1. Start by roasting the bell pepper for a few minutes until the edges start to blister.

  2. Pulse the radishes, dates, and peppers in a food processor until they are finely chopped.

  3. Add the roasted bell pepper and all the remaining ingredients to the food processor.

  4. Process the mixture until it reaches a smooth consistency.

  5. Adjust the spice level according to your taste.

  6. Serve the spicy Italian spread with fresh veggies and/or sourdough bread.
