Red Hot Crispy Bbq Cauliflower Bites Recipe 🔥🌶️

Ingredients

  • 1 large head cauliflower
  • 3/4 cup plain or GF plain flour
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup plant-based milk (plant mylk)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (ACV)
  • 2 tbsp vegan butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup BBQ sauce

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. In a jug, combine the plant-based milk (plant mylk) with apple cider vinegar (ACV), stir well, and let it sit for a few minutes to thicken, creating vegan buttermilk.

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, smoked paprika, chilli powder (if using), garlic powder, and salt.

  4. Chop the cauliflower into evenly sized florets.

  5. Dip each cauliflower floret into the vegan buttermilk mixture, then coat it in the flour mixture. Place the coated florets onto the baking sheets, leaving space between each piece.

  6. Bake the cauliflower for 15 minutes, then flip them over and bake for another 15 minutes.

  7. While the cauliflower is baking, make the BBQ sauce by mixing together the BBQ sauce and melted vegan butter in a small bowl.

  8. Once the initial baking time is done, brush the cauliflower florets with the BBQ sauce mixture or dip them into the sauce, then return them to the oven for another 10 minutes, until they become crispy.

  9. These cauliflower bites are best enjoyed right away, but you can also reheat them in a hot oven for 15 minutes, turning them over halfway through.
