Red Hot Crispy Bbq Cauliflower Bites
Ingredients
- 1 large head cauliflower
- 3/4 cup plain or GF plain flour
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika (can sub regular paprika)
- 1/4 tsp chili powder (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup plant milk
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp vegan butter, melted
- 1/3 cup BBQ sauce
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line two baking sheets.
In a jug, combine plant milk and apple cider vinegar, stir well, and let it sit for a few minutes until thickened to form a vegan buttermilk.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, and salt.
Chop the cauliflower into evenly sized florets.
Dip each floret into the vegan buttermilk and then coat it with the flour mixture. Place the coated florets on the baking tray, leaving space between each floret.
Bake for 15 minutes, then flip the florets over and bake for another 15 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine BBQ sauce and melted vegan butter to make the BBQ sauce.
Brush the BBQ sauce over the florets or dip the florets into the sauce. Return them to the oven for another 10 minutes until crispy.
Serve immediately or reheat in a hot oven for 15 minutes, turning them over halfway through.
