Easy Vegan Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 to 2.5 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup plant milk
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 8 tablespoons vegan butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt

Preparation

  1. Mix apple cider vinegar and milk, then set aside.

  2. Combine baking powder, salt, and flour.

  3. Mix the flour mixture into the butter until you have a crumbly, well-incorporated mixture.

  4. Add the plant milk to the flour mixture and mix until you have a rough dough.

  5. Place the dough onto a well-floured surface and form into a ball.

  6. Roll out the dough and fold it at least four times, with each fold consisting of rolling out and folding twice.

  7. Roll the dough to about 3/4 inch thick and use a 2 to 2.5 inch circular cutter to cut out the biscuits.

  8. Place the biscuits close together on a lined baking sheet and bake at 425°F until golden brown.

Tips

  1. Enjoy with vegan butter, gravy, or use to make a breakfast sandwich.
