August Cake of the Month
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cup cake flour
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temp
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 egg whites room temp
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup sour cream room temp
- 1/2 cup whole milk room temp
- 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles. Vanilla buttercream: 1 cup unsalted butter room temp
- 4-5 cups confectioners sugar
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp vanilla
- salt
Preparation
Preheat oven 350
Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt & set aside
Beat butter & sugar on high
Add egg & vanilla
Beat in high & add in sour cream
Add dry ingredients until just combined
Slowly pour milk in
Gently add in sprinkles
Prep 6 inch pans, baked three layers
Bake for 20-22 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean
Wait to cool and then frost and add more sprinkles on top
