Homemade Blackberry Jam with Reduced Sugar
Ingredients
- 4 cups blackberries
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1/2 an unpeeled apple cut into quarters
Preparation
Add the blackberries to a large pot and cook on medium high heat for about 5 minutes until the juices start to run.
Add the sugar a little at a time to keep the mixture at a continuous rolling boil. Add the apple and cook all for about 15 minutes.
Place a small spoon of jam onto a frozen plate. When a skin forms, it is ready.
Remove the apple and pour the jam into hot sterilized jars and seal.

Sugar helps preserve and add great flavor compared to chia-based jams.
