Homemade Vegan Tuna with Chickpeas

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of chickpeas
  • 1 sheet nori seaweed
  • 2 shallots
  • 1 stalk spring onion
  • a pinch of salt and pepper

Optional

  • 1 tbsp tahini or vegan mayo

Preparation

  1. Finely chop the shallots.

  2. Chop the spring onion.

  3. To make the seaweed powder, place dried seaweed in a coffee or spice grinder and pulse until it turns into powder, or finely chop the nori sheet with a knife.

  4. Mash the cooked chickpeas with a fork.

  5. Add salt, pepper, shallots, spring onion, seaweed powder, and 2-3 tablespoons of water, then mix to combine.

  6. Alternatively, place the cooked chickpeas, salt, pepper, shallots, spring onion, seaweed powder, and 2-3 tablespoons of water in a food processor and process until well combined.
