Indian-Style Sautéed Broccolini

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch broccolini
  • 4 tablespoons mustard oil
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 2 pinches asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon mango powder or 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation

  1. Heat mustard oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, salt, and red chilli powder, and mix well.

  3. Add the broccolini and mix thoroughly.

  4. Cook for 5 minutes or until crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.

  5. Once half done, add mango powder.

Serving suggestions

  1. Serve as a salad, over rice, or with roti or parathas.

  2. Add nuts of your choice when serving if desired.
