Instant Cucumber Semolina Dosa

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Semolina
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 3 medium size Cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons grated Coconut
  • 1 chopped small Ginger Knob (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Seeds
  • Pinch of Turmeric Powder
  • 2-3 Dry Red Chillies
  • 2 spoons Water
  • Salt as per taste
  • Chopped Coriander (optional)
  • Oil

Preparation

  1. Take 1 cup suji in a mixing bowl

  2. Add 3/4 cup water and soak for 30-60 minutes

  3. Take a mixer jar and add the soaked suji

  4. Add 3 medium size cucumber cut into small cubes

  5. Add 2 tablespoons grated coconut

  6. Add 1 chopped small ginger knob (optional)

  7. Add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

  8. Add 1 teaspoon coriander seeds

  9. Add a pinch of turmeric powder

  10. Add 2-3 dry red chillies

  11. Add 2 spoons water and grind to a smooth batter

  12. Transfer the batter to a mixing bowl

  13. Add a little water if the batter is too thick

  14. Add salt as per taste

  15. Add chopped coriander (optional)

  16. Heat up the pan

  17. Put oil and wipe with a tissue

  18. Pour batter and spread it around the pan

  19. Cover and cook on medium heat

  20. Drizzle some oil around the dosa

  21. Cook on medium flame

  22. Flip when it turns golden-brown

  23. Cook the other side and take it on a serving plate

  24. Make more dosas with the same procedure

  25. Enjoy with green chutney

Tips

  1. Do not keep the batter too thick for easy spreading

  2. Cook on medium flame to ensure proper cooking

  3. Kids may not notice the cucumber in the dosa

  4. Skip chopped coriander if it causes issues with spreading the batter

  5. This dosa can be enjoyed anytime from breakfast to dinner
