Orange Ginger Spiced Oatmeal Breakfast
Ingredients
- 1/3 or 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 2 tsp ground flax seeds
- Zest of one orange
- 2 tsp maple syrup or 1 mashed date
- Pinch of cardamom
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- Pinch of salt
Overnight mix
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- Zest of one orange
- Pinch of cardamom
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
Preparation
Add all ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a simmer.
Stir well and cook for 3-5 minutes or until thickened.
Remove from heat and let cool for 1-2 minutes while preparing toppings.
Serve with desired toppings such as mango, blackberries, blueberries, and pecans.
Overnight method
Combine 1/2 cup oats, 1 tbsp chia seeds, zest of one orange, pinch of cardamom, 1/4 tsp ginger, pinch of salt, 2 tsp maple syrup, and 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk in a container.
Stir well and refrigerate overnight.
