Vegan Chocolate Cake with Pears

Ingredients

  • 200 g whole grain spelt flour
  • 35 g raw cocoa powder
  • 80 g dark chocolate
  • 100 g xylitol or erythritol
  • 1/2 package baking powder
  • 240 ml water
  • 120 ml sunflower oil
  • 3 pears

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C upper and lower heat.

  2. In a bowl, mix the whole grain spelt flour, raw cocoa powder, xylitol, and baking powder.

  3. Add the water and sunflower oil and stir well until a smooth batter forms.

  4. Melt the dark chocolate over a water bath and stir it into the batter. If desired, add extra chocolate pieces.

  5. Pour the batter into a loaf pan and press the pears into the cake batter.

  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes. The cake is done when a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
