High Fiber Refined Sugar-Free Milk Tart
Ingredients
Crust
- 1/2 cup raw oats
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp @ohmega_nutbutters salted caramel almond butter
Custard
- 200ml milk of choice
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 1.5 tbsp sweetener
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Preparation
Mix the crust ingredients until combined and press into tartlet trays.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
Place a pot on low heat and combine the milk, flour, and sweetener.
Whisk on low heat until thickened, roughly 5-8 minutes.
Add the egg yolks and continue cooking on low heat for another 5-8 minutes, ensuring the eggs do not scramble.
Whisk the mixture throughout the cooking time.
Add the cinnamon.
Pour the custard mixture into the oat tarts.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
Tips
Be patient while cooling as the mixture needs to set slightly, even though it may be tempting to eat immediately.
