Easy Bosnian Manti from Kosovo
Ingredients
- 5 cups flour
- 2 cups lukewarm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
Filling
- 400 grams ground beef
- 2 medium onions
- black pepper
- red pepper flakes
- salt
For layering
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
For serving
- 1 bowl garlic yogurt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon mint
- 1 teaspoon red pepper powder
Preparation
First, knead the dough and set it aside to rest for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, grate the onions and mix the filling well.
At this stage, the dough and filling are ready.
Divide the dough into egg-sized pieces.
Roll out each piece to the size of a plate and stack them in 8 layers, greasing each layer.
For the 8th layer, do not grease it; roll it out with a rolling pin and then stretch it with your hands to thin it.
Cut into squares, fill each with the filling, and fold as shown.
Arrange in a tray without leaving much space between them.
Brush with the remaining oil and bake at 180°C until golden brown.
Serve with garlic yogurt and spiced butter.
