Saudi Salig Rice Dish
Ingredients
- jasmine rice
- chicken
- hot pepper
- garlic
- onion
- black pepper
- coriander
- cinnamon
- cardamom
- salt
- 1 liter milk
- 500 ml cooking cream
- butter
Preparation
Wash the jasmine rice and soak it in boiling water for half an hour.
Prepare chicken broth by cooking chicken with hot pepper, garlic, onion, black pepper, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt in boiling water until fully cooked.
Remove the chicken and roast it in the oven until browned.
Strain the broth to remove all solids.
Add the soaked rice to a mixture of 1 liter strained chicken broth, 1 liter milk, and 500 ml cooking cream.
Cook on very low heat for one hour.
Serve and enjoy.
Tips
Serve with melted butter for enhanced flavor.
