Brazilian Chocolate Cake with Coconut Filling

Ingredients

Coconut filling

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 package shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Cake

  • 1 package ready-made chocolate cake mix

Preparation

  1. In a saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, shredded coconut, and butter

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture pulls away from the bottom of the pan

  3. Remove from heat and let cool completely

  4. Prepare the cake batter according to the package instructions

  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan

  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cooled coconut filling over the batter

  7. Bake for about 30 minutes at the temperature specified on the cake mix package, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean

  8. Let the cake cool before serving
