Savory Oats and Paneer Pancake
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons besan (chickpea flour)
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon ajwain (carom seeds)
- salt to taste
- finely chopped green chillies
- finely chopped ginger
- finely chopped capsicum
- finely chopped onion
- finely chopped carrots
- fresh coriander leaves
- grated paneer
- oil or butter for cooking
Preparation
Add 1/4 cup water to the oats and let them soak for 5 minutes.
Mix in besan, turmeric powder, coriander powder, ajwain, and salt.
Adjust the batter consistency with additional water if needed.
Stir in finely chopped green chillies, ginger, capsicum, onion, carrots, and coriander leaves.
Heat a pan with a little oil and wipe it with a tissue paper.
Spread the batter into a round pancake shape and drizzle oil or butter on the sides.
When the top starts to dry, add grated paneer on top.
Optionally add more chopped carrots and coriander leaves.
Sprinkle with pepper and salt.
Cook on both sides until done.
Tips
Do not crush the oats to keep a nice texture of oats and paneer.
This chila is healthy and tasty, ideal for breakfast.
